    Frequently Asked Questions

How early do I need to find a preceptor?

It is almost always a good idea to start early on a preceptor search.  Avoid last-minute charges and competition in the marketplace by signing up and requesting your preceptors ahead of time.

I just lost my preceptor last minute! Can you help?

Most likely, yes! We know that sometimes you need us last minute, and we will do our best to help you!

Since I am "paying" for a preceptor, they have to be flexible to me!

You are not paying for a preceptor. You are contributing an honorarium, which is a "token of thanks" to the preceptor for his/her time and expertise. Research shows that if a preceptor were really paid for the time they actually put in precepting, it would be upwards of $10,000!

I am in the middle of my semester and need a preceptor for only a few hours, is that ok?

Yes, we were all students once and understand the challenges of needing to meet clinical hours. We will do our best to support you towards completion of your clinical hours.

What kind of students do you precept and mentor?

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), License Psychiatric Technicians (LPT's), Home Health Aide (HHA), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), License Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP), and more.
